Webb3 dec. 2024 · Inis Oírr has three pubs; Tigh Ned (Ned’s House), Tigh Ruairí (Rory’s House) and the Óstan Inis Oírr (Inisheer Hotel). All offer food as well as drinks. Inis Oírr also has a few coffee shops and tea rooms dotted around the island as well as stalls and kiosks near the pier selling snacks and drinks. In 1885 a burial site called Cnoc Raithní was discovered which dates back to 1500 BC. This is the earliest evidence of human settlement of the island. Saint Caomhán, the patron saint of Inisheer, according to some traditions, was the elder brother of Kevin of Glendalough.
