WebCryptophyceae Hillea fusiformis, Prasinophyceae Pterosperma cristatum, Pt. jorgensenii and a Choanoflagellida Bicosta spiniferaspecies appeared. An increase in the species diversity of dinophytes was noted in 1973 - 1993 when 36 new species were listed in the NWBS (Nesterova, 1998). Later, 48 species were added to the list of which 37 were new Webalgal taxa and no toxins were detected. The sample collected at Marina Town Hancock Creek was dominated by Hillea fusiformis and had no detectable toxins. The sample collected at Tiger Lake was co-dominated by Microcystis wesenbergii and Dolichospermum circinale and had an estimated trace level (0.67 parts per billion) of total microcystins.
